Parade Info

This is a VERY "Rowdy” parade. The crowd for the Knight parade is unusually "Rowdy” and some are not considerate at all. Please stay in control, watch your own alcohol consumption, stay far away from the crowd and be safe! According to TPD this is a "dry parade".  NO CLEAR (see through) drinking items.

Safety/Security Volunteers will be at the float early to police both entrance. No plain clothes allowed on the float, unless you are a member, a member of another krewe or safety/security volunteer.

Guests

No guests of any kind are allowed during our parades. Only members of Brigadoon and Safety/ Security may walk with us, around or on our float. Anyone who is not a Krewe member must leave the area 15 minutes before the parade starts.  PLAIN CLOTHES GUEST (NON KREWE) are NOT allowed on the float (unless they have official parade wristband) and NOT allowed to eat any of KOB's catered food. Strictly enforced and responsibility of all KOB members to enforce.

Staging

  KSY & KOB Rules

1.) KSY Wristband is mandatory for the staging area and parade route. They must be worn by all KOB participants, including Safety/Security. If you are unable to get a wristband before the parade, please come to the float first to get your wristband. You DO NOT need these to enter the staging area.

2.) Requested by TPD to not give the officers beads!

3.) NO WALKING ALLOWED ON THE SIDE OF THE FLOAT.  Back of float ONLY due to how narrow areas get.  This is for members safety.

4.) None of these items are allowed in or near the parade route: Styrofoam, glass, confetti, balloons, paper material/flyers etc., fireworks, firearms, cap guns, fake guns, metal swords and no confetti pop cannons.

5.) We will be passing under live trolley lines and low hanging stop lights. Do not touch anything, do not hang or throw beads on anything and watch your head!

IMPORTANT by TPD: See Something, Say Something to Law enforcement.

  • NO Standing in the hallway or bead bags on the floor of the hallway.  Keep it clear.
  • NO standing by or on the stairs on the back of the float.  NO standing by or on the stairs to the castle.
  • Do not pile beads on the back of the float, or in the walkways painted black. Beads MUST have your name on them! Take your beads out of the box at home and use a disposable bag.
  • Do not bring suitcases, big bags or coolers and lay them all over the float floor, especially on the rear of the float.
  • As always, no guests are allowed at the parade when the float moves. Krewe of Brigadoon members only.
  • Please be respectful of the hard work members have put into the float and to pick up after yourself.
  • Do not leave anything on the float, including personal items. Do not being anything expensive or important to the float. Keep your wallet, ID, money, purse, sunglasses, keys, cameras etc. on you at all times.
  • NO walking along the side and front of the float. Stay away from the float, tow vehicle and hitch area at all times. Safety-Security will be enforcing.
  •  If you are falling down intoxicated and security feels you are a safety risk. You will be required to be on the float for the rest of the parade.  Tougher rules on intoxication members, by putting them on the float if they are not willing to listen or cannot walk for their own safety. Security Officers will make that judgement call and will be enforced.
  • Stick together – Do not walk more than 40 feet behind the float. Bunch together. If you can’t hear the float stereo, you are too far away. (This is very important).
  • Members who continue to walk more than 40 feet behind our float will be put on the float.
  • NO smoking is allowed on our float. We will have Parade Marshals/Monitors on the float to help anyone who needs anything. Depending on attendance, not everyone will be able to ride on the float. Please allow spaces for people who need them.

Disbanding

VERY IMPORTANT: Parade will end at 7th Ave. and 22nd St. Disbanding off the float will be within 3 blocks of 22nd Street.

If you are riding the float either exit BEFORE 22nd. If you are helping with the Float committee, stay on the float to breakdown at 24th -26th.  No one on the float after 26th.

Costume

All members must follow full costume as directed in the costume guidelines.  See Costume Guidelines or contact your Costume Adviser. Everyone should be wearing comfortable black or brown shoes.

Beads
Our Krewe beads are for trading and giving out to the crowd if you like. Walking up and down the staging area before the parade is great fun and lots of other Krewes will want to trade "Krewe” beads with you. Buy cheap "Throw” beads, at least one big cardboard box of them (sometimes called a case and usually has 60 dozen small 33” bead strands in one box), for the Day Parade. Two boxes may be better though this will be hard to carry to the float. Put beads in disposable plastic bags. No suitcases, NO BOXES, or coolers allowed. If you do not put your name on your beads someone may accidentally throw them for you or move them to another location.

Please put bead bags in the storage shelves, or in the top village or up in the castle. Make sure your name is marked clearly on all bags.  Do Not Block any walkways.  No suitcases please and No BOXES!

Parking

Park in the 15th Street garage (Nearest to Centro YBOR) on 15th St and 6th Ave. See map below OR the Noriega garage on Nuccio near Palm/8th then walk to the staging area right on 7th Ave. Staging runs right on 7th Ave and down Nuccio.
