A Spouse or Significant Other is NOT permitted unless they are volunteering for safety & security.  Neighbors and their children are not allowed.

This is Kid friendly parade and a DRY parade - meaning NO alcohol will be served at the float.

    ALL Krewe Guests:

Child Participants and Security will be required to sign a Waiver, and everyone must strictly abide by all of our Safety and Parade rules.
Children must have the Waiver signed by Parent(s) or "Legal Guardian.” Every child must have a waiver submitted online prior to the Parade.

    Important Safety Rules:
    • Krewe members are allowed to bring 3 kids each between the Ages 3 years to 18 years old.

    • TOSS beads underhanded.  Guardians, please teach your children proper by underhand toss.

    • None of these items are allowed in or near the parade route: Styrofoam, glass, confetti, balloons, paper material/flyers etc., fireworks, firearms, cap guns, fake guns, metal swords and no confetti pop cannons.

    • All children under 12 years old are required to ride the float.

    • No children under the age of 11 years old allowed on the upper village, unless a parent/guardian is with them.

    • Do not exit the float in the disbanding area until police direct you to. Do not jump off early.

    • Keep your kids safe, watch them on or off the float at all times.

    • Please advise the kids to always throw beads underhand to someone looking right at them.

    • Please advise children not touch anything on the float, do not pick at Styrofoam, do not climb on walls, ledges or hand out on the stairs. Keep kids off all walls, steps, ledges and out of hallways.

    • NO strollers are allowed on the float.

    • No alcohol whatsoever is allowed at this parade. Again, absolutely no alcohol can be brought, snuck in, consumed or carried anywhere near the parade/route/float.

    • Do not pile beads on the back of the float, or in the walkways or anywhere on the floor. Beads MUST have your name on them! Take your beads out of the box at home and use a disposable bag.
    • Do not bring suitcases, big bags or coolers and lay them all over the float floor, especially on the rear of the float. Beads piled in the back on the floor will be moved to the front or sides on the float. Put your name on your beads. Please put bead bags in the storage shelves, in the top village or up in the castle.  Make sure your name is marked clearly on all bags.
      No suitcases please or boxes!

    • Walk only BEHIND our float. Stay away from the float, tow vehicle and hitch area at all times.

    • NO Smoking is allowed on our float. We will have Parade Marshals/Monitors on the float to help anyone who needs anything. Depending on attendance, not everyone will be able to ride on the float. Please allow spaces for people who need them.

    Parade Route

Tampa’s Christmas Parade will proceed west on Madison Street, then turn north onto Ashley Drive towards the disbanding area.

    Disbanding

Please follow the instructions below and for instructions from TPD Officers during the parade.

    • Parade Ends: The Parade ends at Gasparilla Plaza; please turn off the music and stop throwing beads.
    • Walkers/dancers/bands: Will turn left onto Gasparilla Plaza and, if applicable, immediately load onto your bus, proceed to your vehicle, or join us in the park for Santa Fest! Please keep moving forward so we do not have a backup on Gasparilla Plaza.
    • Floats/motorized units: Will turn right onto Polk Street. TPD will direct you to Jefferson Street to head north and out of downtown Tampa. Please note: For safety reasons, Floats will not be allowed to stop in the disbanding area.
    • For safety reasons, Walkers accompanying a float or vehicle will be turned onto Gasparilla Plaza and will not be permitted to walk onto Polk Street. Floats will not be allowed to stop on the parade route or on Polk Street for participants to get on. Float riders need to stay on the float as it proceeds through disbanding.
    • Float Riders: Floats needing to unload riders will be directed by TPD to stop at Pierce Street, where you will have 2 minutes to disembark. Please note: No equipment or decorations breakdown will be permitted on Polk Street by TPD.

    STAGING

    Staging Map TBA

    • The Staging Map (attached) indicates your Entrance Number and the intersection where you will enter the staging area.
    • Parade Staging Coordinators will be at each entrance to assist you in finding your location.
    • Walking groups should stage on the sidewalk for your safety and so that floats & vehicles can stage along the streets.
    • Large groups (bands, Krewes, dance troops, etc.) arriving by bus should coordinate their arrival and unloading. Please display the Staging Number on the dash of the bus. After the bus drops off in staging, it will drive down the parade route and turn left onto Gasparilla Plaza. Buses will park (facing west) along the north curb of Gasparilla Plaza.

Please note: For the safety of parade participants, personal vehicles will not be allowed in the parade staging area. Personal vehicles should drop their participants at the closest intersection and plan to pick up participants at the end of the parade.

    DOWNTOWN ROAD CLOSURE

    CITY OF TAMPA GUIDELINES

    • Please remember, no Santa characters are allowed, except on the Official Tampa Christmas Parade Santa Float. Santa hats are permissible. Festive costumes with bright colors are encouraged.
    • All units must be designed and decorated to reflect the Christmas holiday theme of the parade and must be constructed in a manner that is safe for all participants and spectators.

Each safety monitor must be equipped with an orange or lime green safety vest and a whistle.
